★★★★★

MaryCruz · 20/08/2023 08:39

Today marks the first day of my journey with Rybelsus, I acquired from Online Pharmacy. Not referring, just information. My current weight stands at 14 stone 5 pounds, and my height is 5 feet 8 inches. I took my first tablet right when I woke up. I'm excited about this new chapter and would love for anyone interested to follow along. I plan to provide updates on my weight loss progress on a weekly basis, optimistically hoping for positive results. Joining this journey could be a great opportunity for us to share tips, experiences, and encouragement. I understand the importance of consistency and patience in this process, and I'm prepared for the ups and downs. It’s a step towards a healthier lifestyle, and I’m curious to see how Rybelsus will work for me. Let’s embark on this path together, sharing insights and supporting each other along the way.

I used to watch people's food diary's online, to see what they eat in a day and I would always think, lies! Or they must be starving because how can someone feel full on such little food. And now I really do feel content on a slice of avocado toast for a few hours.

I hope the stigma around this medication stops soon and the NHS do start prescribing it more freely, because I truly think it could change a lot of people's lives.

Hi!
that sounds rough @LoneWolf - there are some very nasty things doing the rounds.

day 7 for me today. It’s been a funny week. I definitely think my appetite is reduced and I’ve lost 2lbs, so that’s good. I did have a really shit cluster of migraines mon- weds. Not a new thing for me, so Probably too soon to tell if it’s made them worse. Post migraines I get a weird hangovery sensation and all I want is salty crisps. Interestingly, it wasn't half as bad as usual this time.

our eldest is off to uni tomorrow, so feeling emotional today. Also feeling like she’s never going to get herself organised! Oh to be a carefree teenager!

LanaRay · 21/02/2024 13:51

Hello hello, also checking in! Hope everyone is well, sorry you’ve been so poorly @LoneWolf and hello to the newbies 👋🏻

I’ve now hit the 3 stone, I mentioned I was going to exercise more etc and it definitely helped. I can say though that the food noise has returned , I’m starving today and really having to stop myself raiding the sweets! Still on 7mg and not considering moving up, just hoping it ties me over as ideally would like to lose another 8lbs. I weigh daily but try not to get over infatuated if I’m up by a couple of pounds etc. Also still losing hair like @KayliDzhener

By the way did anyone watch The Truth About the Skinny Jab on TV the other night??

LoneWolf · 22/02/2024 07:43

Good to hear how everyone is doing and @IronHeart that's great news re the jeans!

@SilverFox I feel your pain having been through it with my children. Keeping busy helps and planning lots of nice things to do.

@LanaRay No I didn't watch it but I heard it was on - is it worth watching?

Well I got into my old favourite jeans yesterday and they fitted nicely but in the years they haven't fitted they have gone out of fashion so may need to get new jeans now!

IronHeart · 22/02/2024 18:36

@LanaRay what channel was it on and I'll try to get it on catch up? I've heard it was very scare monger-ey and anti semaglutide but I'd still watch it.

CrystalVision · 23/02/2024 07:38

Hi. Isn't if great getting into old clothes again. Not needing to buy news clothes pays for the rybelsus. Oh and smaller clothes are much cheaper on ebay. It's really interesting to read back through this thread and see how many of us had slow starts but have slowly lost weight. I have been away for 4 weeks with no scales and loose clothing so no idea how I was doing. I was on half dose so I could join in the drinking and eating but it was still pretty controlled. Anyway I think I have lost 4 or 5 lbs which was a surprise as I felt fatter. So like @LoneWolf I am a few lbs off my target. What next? This hasn't just reduced my weight but changed my whole body shape. Less bloated and more athletic which I think is something to do with carbs and increases insulin. Half dose is still noticeable so might go twice a week. Although that's not much less really.

KayliDzhener · 23/02/2024 09:21

Well done, that's awesome. Last year I sold all my smaller clothes on eBay as I thought I would never get back into them! This year I have sold the too big ones on Vinted. I have used the money to buy new to me ones and last night I won a coat I wanted on eBay for $8. I can now shop from anywhere rather than the plus size shops. I am one tantalising lb off 4 stone and 10lb off my half way goal of 13stone 7lb so a long weigh to go yet. But if feels doable this time round.

Monika · 23/02/2024 10:30

@LoneWolf ohhhh sad to hear you've been poorly! Covid seems to be making the rounds again.

Watching the show on channel 4. It's pretty negative on semaglutide and scare mongering. There was a good segment from a scientist at Anglia Ruskin talking about how obesity is now being considered differently in scientific fields as hormonal and treatable which I thought was interesting. Of course the rest of the documentary doesn't dive into that at all and focuses on the negative side effects, unregulated dispensing and black market.

The black market section is quite worrying, especially the scientists who tested and the samples and had no idea what it was - but I've not come across any of this online and I shop around a lot 😆 I suppose after seeing this I will double check the packaging and text on pills to make sure it's Novo Nordisk.

Also as somebody who has sourced Rybelsus from a bunch of websites, they have ALL required a photograph (I shopped around for one which didn't as I hate taking photos, and couldn't find any!) and one company phoned me up to ask if I had side effects and how I was doing.

The other part that surprised me was those going to private GPs and being prescribed it without weighing? I do wonder if there was a bit of bias there as Anna Richardson is a recognizable celebrity so maybe they were more willing to look the other way?

Would be interested to hear from others here a) did you have to supply a photograph/BMi information etc? And b) Did anybody go to a private GP or did you all source it online?

KayliDzhener · 23/02/2024 10:49

I got mine online, from a pharmacy I did send a photo in march and have used the same one ever since even tho I am 4 stone lighter, I think they need to have it on file for due diligence if anything goes wrong but pretty sure they haven't looked at it or they would see the meta data is 23 march.

CrystalVision · 23/02/2024 12:07

@Monika yes I found two online weight loss clinics although both with long established inperson clinics that did not require photos. Because of this I scrutinise the packing very carefully. I also scan the QR code and it does mean something ( stocking code or something ). I don't want to name them as I wouldn't want draw attention as I don't think they fall into the dodgy black market category.

LanaRay · 23/02/2024 13:02

Sorry Have been slow in replying but yes it’s channel 4 @IronHeart as @Monika mentions. I watched really expecting it to slate people who weren’t diabetics using it but I didn’t think that side was as bad as I’d thought it would be. I thought the most worrying was the black market they exposed… I’ve had mine from 2 main suppliers both of which required bmi and photos. All online. If they say they have to contact GP I have avoided as those who have been in here a while know, I have told no one I’m doing this!

I haven’t really shopped for ages but have so many smaller clothes I held onto so it’s like fitting a whole new wardrobe! I don’t know what to do with the larger clothes as I’m worried as soon as I start the tablets my weight will go up again 😞

IronHeart · 23/02/2024 18:29

Thanks @LanaRay , I found it and watched this morning. I thought it was pretty biased, and the presenters manner did get on my nerves.

I was shouting at the TV at one point when she was "shocked" that a clinic had given her the product she had paid for!

The bit near the end about what I think is called compounded semaglutide (in the vials that you mix yourself) was pretty scary, as I saw a lot of women either in the Oz threads or on Reddit recommending it to others when the shortage was at its height. And we've also seen even on this thread people trying to sell on meds to other people.

I really liked the doctor who was explaining how the drug works, he was stood in front of a model of the human body near the beginning, he explained it very well I thought.

KayliDzhener · 29/02/2024 10:05

Morning all, hope you are well.

Good news and bad news this week. Good news 6lb lost!

Sailed through 4 stone and heading towards 5. Bad news, something is seriously not right. I'm sick all the time. D@v had to take time off work this week

. Started a few months ago if I ate out so I was really careful, whilst I was in Edinburgh it was pizza that triggered it, then at a Thai restaurant then a full English, so I was leaning towards it being too high fat.

This week Monday and Tuesday I couldn't keep the pill down and vomited it up within an hour along with the green tea I drank. This was new so I put it down to the tea

. Wednesday I had only water and about a quarter of a piece of brown bread, that came back.

Yesterday I had a lunch in London, had a cappuccino on the train, that came back. Had an avocado salad no dressing and gluten free dairy free vegetarian pasta and that came back last night,

During the night I had excruciating pain in my legs and had to keep getting up to walk around and finally took some magnesium which stopped it. Had no choice but to tell my partner about the tablets as he was all for taking me to a@e. I checked the side effects again last night and how to counter them, so hopefully I can get back in control. So I haven't taken any medication all week now. I usually have the weekend off so I can eat a meal with oh. So will try again Monday.

It's been a tough week, supposed to at an event in Brighton today but I am on the sofa instead.

Hope you are all doing well

LanaRay · 29/02/2024 13:56

@KayliDzhener I’m really sorry your are not very well! I was wondering could it be a bug but I’m guessing it’s only when you eat? You must be worried (I know I question any symptom as to whether it’s the tablets). How did your partner react to you taking the tablets (I know we similarly didn’t tell anyone). Also are you still eating very little? I was wondering if it’s a lack of vitamins that you’d normally get through food. I have noticed (as well as my hair loss) for example my nails are all dipped at the base which hasn’t been before and this upon looking up is vitamin related just like hair loss can be too. I think we've both been on these tablets the same amount of time. I also finding my throat is sore, not full blown but just aware of it if that makes sense. I really hope you feel better soon, defo a good idea to come off and eat more to see if that helps? When you say about managing the side effects how will you do this out of interest?

I have about 5lbs left to lose before I feel like I’d be happy. I had only planned to be on them for 3 months or so but now I’m scared about coming off and putting all the weight back on but also scared to stay on them longer due to side effects. I’ve been meaning to see if there’s anyone with experience about coming off them and maintaining weight or a thread for it similar to this.

Defo keep resting up! Hope tomorrow you are much better :)

KayliDzhener · 29/02/2024 14:46

Re managing side effects, it was an article I read, it said exercise, plenty of fresh air high fibre diet and avoid dehydration. I've ordered bran flakes and almond milk for breakfast and some high fibre bars also bottles of lucozade as that made me feel a lot better.

I was trying to eat more to combat the hair loss but I could feel my stomach wasn't emptying if that makes sense. It was almost as if if I ate a grape for example I could feel it piling up on top of the previous food. I mean if I don't vomit how does my stomach empty? I only poo once a week, if that. Hopefull the high fibre and more water will keep things moving. MANAGED a piece of toast today with butter and jam and have a ready meal for dinner which I will steam sone veg with.

LanaRay · 29/02/2024 14:58

@KayliDzhener ahh that makes sense so your body can’t get rid of food the normal way and you are probs full so it just comes straight back up. I am lucky in that I go most days but I also take two every day Psyllium Husks when I remember! I have had to raise my fibre the last few days as have had terrible haemorrhoids (sorry tmi!) and I defo don’t drink as much. Hopefully with you raising your fibre and water that will make you more regular and stop the sickness. Glad you’ve manage to eat and it’s stayed down today

StarGazer · 29/02/2024 15:55

Hey guys newbie here. Does anyone know what 7mg Rybelsus is equivalent to on a Ozempic pen? Would you say it's 1mg?

KayliDzhener · 29/02/2024 16:01

Sorry no idea, maybe ask a pharmacist?

IronHeart · 29/02/2024 18:48

@KayliDzhener they sound like very serious symptoms I think if I was experiencing similar I would seek medical advice. Hope you feel better soon.

KayliDzhener · 29/02/2024 19:20

@IronHeart thanks, I have had it intermittently for most of the time I have been on the tablets, but I am booked for blood tests on 13th October

SilverFox · 29/02/2024 19:44

i hope you get to the bottom of things @KayliDzhener. That sounds so rough. It hard to tell if it’s the medication I bet.

I’m 2 weeks in now. I’ve lost 3lbs, despite not really feeling like my appetite was that impacted until the past couple of days. No weird side effects yet.

it’s been a funny old couple of weeks with Dd going off to uni and some other stuff going on. I definitely think the medication has helped as I haven’t done any emotional eating / binging - which is my usual go to when stressed. I came on today as well and usually am ravenous a couple of days before my period, but it’s not been a thing this month.

how long did people stay on the lowest dose? Starting to think about my next order and whether to stay on 3mg.

KayliDzhener · 29/02/2024 20:38

I did a month on each dose and then 14mg

IronHeart · 29/02/2024 20:57

@KayliDzhener I do know someone on Oz who has lost a lot of weight very quickly, even for a semaglutide user, and has had gall bladder problems as a result. Do you get a lot of acid/reflux? Could it be the same for you?

KayliDzhener · 29/02/2024 22:44

Yeah gall bladder is one of the things they are gonna check
